BOWERBIRD was engaged by Mulpha to furnish the shared amenity spaces within the Lacebark and Banksia buildings at Norwest Quarter.

At Lacebark, the vision for the common areas goes beyond functionality, creating spaces that feel engaging, welcoming, and connected to the resident experience. The design is characterised by sculptural forms, bold geometries, and a contemporary aesthetic that is both refined and distinctive.

A layered palette of navy, burgundy, and warm neutrals brings depth and richness to the interiors. Every design decision was carefully considered, from the sweeping curved ceiling details to the furniture selection, ensuring each element contributes to the overall experience of the space.

Furniture plays a key role in shaping the character of the amenities. Generous seating introduces comfort and softness, balancing the building’s stronger architectural forms. Dining settings encourage connection and community, while marble coffee tables help define and anchor each zone. Rounded furniture silhouettes subtly reflect the curved architectural language throughout the building, creating a cohesive and harmonious environment. Every piece was selected for its ability to support both the functionality and visual identity of the space.

What sets the Lacebark amenities apart is the balance between openness and character. The spaces feel intuitive and uncluttered, yet are enriched with thoughtful details and carefully curated furnishings that create warmth and personality. Whether residents are dining, working, relaxing, or simply passing through, the design encourages them to slow down and enjoy the space around them.

More than just communal facilities, the shared amenities at Lacebark are a natural extension of the residential experience.

Within the Banksia building at Norwest Quarter, the shared amenities take a different approach. The focus there is on creating a calm and restorative environment, where soft neutral tones, natural materials, and earthy accents work together to provide a welcome retreat from the pace of everyday life.
