BOWERBIRD was commissioned to furnish and style two four-bedroom penthouses within AURA by Aqualand, a prestige development in North Sydney. Each was given its own distinct identity.
La Divina is the first of the pair, and where its counterpart Il Magnate leans into drama and contrast, La Divina moves in the opposite direction: warmth, softness and sculptural ease.

Creams, taupes and soft beiges form the foundation, with light oak flooring and timber joinery grounding the scheme without competing with it.
Marble was already present throughout the penthouse’s finishes, so we echoed it deliberately through the furniture selection: a Carrara oval dining table in the dining room and marble bedside table lamps in the guest bedroom carry the material thread into the more intimate spaces. The kitchen island, with its curved travertine-look surface, set the sculptural language early, and we followed that lead throughout.
A serpentine sectional sofa anchors the living room, joined by barrel-shaped armchairs and side tables with ribbed, fluted detailing. Every silhouette is curved, with no hard edges anywhere in the space.
The burgundy and plum dining chairs are the one moment of deliberate boldness: a strong choice within a restrained palette, but one that earns its place. Their tones reappear in the living area soft furnishings, tying the two zones together quietly.

We also focused on creating spaces that invite use: a study nook for focused moments and a dedicated sitting area in the bedroom, positioned to face the harbour view.
The styling carries one responsibility at a penthouse like this: do not compete with the outlook. Sculptural white ceramics, a brass table lamp and a tubular pendant keep things restrained near the dining room, with everything placed to direct the eye toward what lies beyond the glass.

Whilst La Divina is soft, warm and gently curved, its sister penthouse tells a very different story. Il Magnate embraces high-contrast drama and a moodier sense of luxury. Read about it here.
