We’d already worked with this client across a number of commercial projects, furnishing apartments and shared spaces. So when it came time to update the family home, there was already a level of trust in how we work.

The setting is hard to ignore. The home sits quite literally by the beach, with the sound of the waves carrying through the spaces. Architecturally, it has real character too, soaring ceilings, exposed timber beams and a sense of history that gives the home an almost old-world quality.

The brief here was much more personal. The home needed to feel relaxed, warm and easy to live in, with space for family to come together, entertain and spend time with the grandkids.

The architecture gave us plenty to work with, high ceilings, great natural light and open living spaces. We kept the palette light and warm, then added depth through timber, soft upholstery, richer browns and darker accents. Larger, softer pieces help the living areas feel comfortable and grounded, while the dining space stays open and connected to the rest of the home.

The shift from a professional brief to a personal home is a good example of how our Interior Design service can adapt to completely different projects, clients and ways of living.
