Effortlessly Cosy in Stanmore

Styled to Sell

Sometimes we get asked to style a project with a balanced design direction. What does this mean you may ask? It’s a seamless blend of our 3 design direction looks: light, moody & hues. And the brief for this Stanmore property was “a light palette with pops of colour and a few dark elements for some character”. Often we advise against this because it creates confusion in the style you’re trying to create in your home or property. Are you coastal and airy? Are you fun and colourful? Or are you bold and daring?

And of course, there are exceptions to everything. Which in this case, combining all 3 palettes was exactly what this space needed. Using a mostly light design direction with whites and soft greys, we layered textured cushions in the bedroom, added a pop of turquoise (timeless!) and contrasted with black lamps and armchairs. The flooring was very warm, so we paired wooden furnishings like the desk to follow the house’s pre-existing natural earthy tones.

The completed look created an effortlessly cosy impression for this Stanmore home, and we like it. A lot.

We don't often combine 3 different design directions when styling a property, but a perfect balance was exactly what this space in Stanmore needed.
