We all know and love the clean aesthetic of a light design direction, but on this special occasion, a bit of drama is just what this residence calls for. This spectacular home located in Kensington, southeast Sydney, is filled with 4 bedrooms, a high ceiling, a beautiful black marble kitchen, and concrete floors. We were honoured to work with a developer on this project as this undeniably unique home was in the running for a design award.

We knew instantly we wanted to go with our Moody Design Direction for a dramatic effect. A dark scheme can give a home the depth and confidence it deserves to shine. We began with a curated selection of stunning furniture pieces that complement beautifully with one another to elicit the mood of true luxe.

A black coffee table sets the tone for the home. While simplistic in design, the subtle linear detailing in the base boasts with interest. Similarly, the armchairs are another contemporary find that’s unique on its own. You can’t help but admire the details of the eye-catching curves, letting it shine in all its glory. Designing around the statement pieces, we dressed the rest of the home with neutrals and topped it off with simplistic accessories and monochrome textures. The overall feel is a sleek and elevated moody home that feels serene and luxe. What do you think?
