    Why children’s cancer?

If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ll know that for BOWERBIRD Interiors, what we do is more than just furniture and styling.

It’s about being a part of something bigger than ourselves and making a difference to the people around us. Giving back has always been one of our foundations, so we’re extremely proud to announce our corporate partnership with Children’s Cancer Institute over the next 3 years.

We sat down with our Managing Director and Creative Director, Geoff & Lauren, to share why children’s cancer is a cause close to our hearts.

Watch the video, or read the full interview below.

Why is children’s cancer close to your heart?

Lauren: We had an experience a few years ago where a little girl, Milan, who went to preschool with our daughter, Bowie had brain cancer, and unfortunately she passed away. I guess having it that close, it becomes real.

Geoff: We’ve supported the Children’s Cancer Institute for a number of years now and they’re just an amazing bunch of people and super passionate about what they’re doing. So this year, we’ve committed to a 3-year partnership with CCI, doing a whole pile of things and hopefully raising a ton of money to help them cure childhood cancer.

How is BOWERBIRD Interiors contributing to CEO Dare To Cure this year?

This year for CEO Dare to Cure we have entered a corporate team and we’re going to compete in the extreme fitness challenge. BOWERBIRD Interiors are the dare sponsor so we’re really excited to be on board and partnering with CEO Dare to Cure in a really meaningful way.

What are your current fitness levels?

Geoff: I’d be probably… elite (Lauren laughs)

Lauren: I’m more of a pilates and power walking kind of person. This is going to be way out of my comfort zone, I will have to train for months. But luckily part of our team, we’ve got a world champion ironman, and also our other great friends from Cronulla Pools are so fit, it’s seriously scary. I’m the weak link in the fitness challenge (laughs)

Geoff: If you want to be part of something bigger than yourselves, get behind CEO Dare to Cure, get behind Children’s Cancer Institute, and sponsor us for this amazing cause.

Lauren: We’d be super grateful for any support.

If you’d like to be part of our journey to make a difference or join us in the fight against childhood cancer – we’re always open to hearing from you. Get in touch using the contact form or email us at and we’ll be in touch soon.
