6 items our interior designers are loving (and where to find them!)

Our Styled to Keep team spends their days choosing the best decor for our clients. So, it’s safe to say they know a thing or two about creating beautiful interiors! We recently caught up with three members of the Styled to Keep team and got them to reveal the six Winter furnishings they’ll be investing in this season.

    Winter furnishings 101: A cold-weather coffee table

A beautiful coffee table is always a great addition to a living space. Aesthetically, it can anchor the overall appearance of a room. However, from a practical point of view, it’s also an essential item for resting a much-needed cup of tea or displaying fresh flowers, candles and coffee table books.

If you’re looking to invest a Winter furnishing that will update your home for the cooler months, our Styled to Keep designer Claudia recommends the Atlas Compass Coffee Table by Globe West. Featuring a statement tri-leg base made of cream and terracotta-coloured marble, it is both a beautiful complement to a living room decorated in rich winter hues AND a great place to rest a steaming mug of hot chocolate.

    Statement sculptures

Claudia’s second recommendation for the hottest trend in Winter furnishings? An abstract piece of decorative art. One of her favourites is the Acton Resin Sculpture by Coco Republic. Available in either white or beige, the overlapping lines, organic finish and unique pattern variations of this piece place it perfectly alongside the other richly textured furnishings of the season – such as woollen blankets, velvet pillows and boucle rugs.

    Out of the woods

Channel the vibe of a timber log cabin by investing in natural wooden furnishings this Winter. Styled to Keep designer Katie highly recommends the Serengeti Modular Lounge Set from Uniqwa Collections – an undercover outdoor piece perfect for backyard bonfires and lazy nights gazing at the stars. Handcrafted from teak branches, and featuring UV-protected cushions, it also perfectly transitions into the warmer months – making it an excellent long-term investment for any time of the year.

    Change your stripes

Given her appreciation for furnishings that deliver a refined organic aesthetic, it’s unsurprising that Katie also nominates the Rock Pool Linen Cushion – Natural with Organic Stripe by Eadie Lifestyle, as her cooler seasonal essential.

Although bold stripes may be typically associated with coastal seaside escapes – such as our Towgradi project –  Katie’s suggestion for incorporating them into your Winter decor is to opt for muted colours in soft earthy tones. Made from rustic linen, these cushions also work beautifully layered with more traditional Winter textures, such as velvet sofas and wool bed throws.

    Test out texture

Warm, luxurious upholstery is synonymous with Winter furnishings. Which is why our style icon, founder, and Creative Director Lauren nominates the Artie Armchair by MCM as her cold-weather must-have.

Available in either velvet or boucle, this accent armchair also features a rustic ash timber frame, with walnut colour stain and a comfortable seat (perfect for sinking into for a long night in!) – making it the ultimate investment for the lover of all things Winter. And let’s be honest, if Lauren is recommending something – you better bet we’ve already clicked ‘add to cart’.

    State of the art

Finally, given that you’ll likely be spending more time indoors than ever, Lauren recommends an amazing piece of artwork to transform your home into a personal gallery.

    Adorn 07 • Toblerone

Among the collection curated by Cassie Braunthal at CXC Studio, Lauren’s favourite pieces include the Embellished 04 Buttercream, the Adorn 05 Toblerone and the Adorn 07 Caramel. Pick one, or invest in all three, to transform the walls of your Winter living spaces into something truly delicious!
